The Westside Community Conference Center began in 1987 at the former Valley View Junior High. Access 66 Catering was established at the Conference Center in 1999 to serve all District needs as well as catering for events in the community.
In the fall of 2007, Westside Community Schools announced that the Westside Career Center would move into the south end of the building to start classes in August, 2008. The Westside Community Conference Center continues to rent the facility and cater events in the Westside Banquet Room, Lighthouse Dining Suite, Alumni Executive Boardroom and Gym. Access 66 Catering is the exclusive caterer for all meetings and events and also caters to many other off-site venues.
The Westside Community Conference Center is an excellent example of how a school district can take surplus property and utilize it to the economic benefit of the district, while, at the same time, fulfilling needs in the community and enhancing the educational program to its K-12 students. Westside's Community Conference Center is the only one of its kind in Omaha and few similar facilities exist around the country.
